I am attending a first birthday party and..?

as they handed me the invitation they said “no gifts.” It is for my cousin’s son next weekend. It is his first birthday. It doesn’t say no gifts on the invite. She said she has plenty of clothes and toys for him. Is it OK if i give a savings bond or something in a card for him? or Should I show up completely empty handed?

i think thats a good idea. very thoughtful of you. they probably have lots of t hings for their baby and dont want more, but asavings bond or cash they can save is always helpful. My gram didnt buy us alot of things after we reached a certain age, but she always bought us a savings bond. And once we hit 18 or 21 we could do what we wanted with it.
